Our Learners Program
Early learners
At Scholar Prep Day School, our Early Learners program actively involves young children ages 3 through 4 in a rich and nurturing learning environment, inviting them to observe, be active, make choices, experiment, wonder, create, discover and imagine.
Our program focuses on providing a strong, supportive, educational and socio-emotional foundation for our youngest learners. With this in mind, SPDS’s Early Learners program fosters an environment that teaches social skills, encourages confidence and positive self-esteem, and supports emotional well-being in a multi-age setting.
Through active participation and play, children learn to work in groups and develop a sense of belonging where they share an excitement and love for learning. By exploring themes and asking big questions, important concepts in Language Arts, Social Studies and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) are discovered, and developmental domains in language, cognitive and physical development are achieved.

Goals for Early learner students
Primary learners
At the primary level, SPDS fosters a culture where students learn to develop and sharpen their social, communication and life skills, in addition to undertaking core subjects such as: Science, Mathematics, Language Arts, Social Studies and the Fine Arts.
Students are required to participate in school events and cross-curricular activities, as we believe this builds their self confidence in learning how to become team players, and discovering their hidden talents.
Junior High learners
The junior high curriculum incorporates standards established by The Bahamas’ Ministry of Education (MoE), and is supplemented by activities which focus on world geography and history, social interaction, problem solving, exploration and experience.
Teachers act as facilitators of knowledge in the classroom where students explore physical, mental, moral and social growth. They are required to prepare students for social changes that accompany heightened participation in Science, Technologies, and other fields of learning that expand their cultural education.
Goals for Primary & Junior High learner students
Be communicators, critical thinkers and problem solvers
Foster a growth mindset
Acknowledge and engage in differing perspectives
Develop an eagerness to learn
